OCHRE AND INK wins First Prize in Documentary at Marin County International Short Film Festival, San Rafael, California.
‘The First Prize Documentary winner is the best of filmmaking, introducing us to people in faraway lands and showing us their creative spirit. Ochre and Ink takes us along with Chinese traditional brush painter Xiaoping as he visits Australia and decides on a whim to journey into the heart of the outback, where he meets Aboriginal people for the first time. Artists speak the same language, and Xiaoping is soon welcomed as a creative collaborator. The film is a touching tribute to the relationships and the art that emerge from his adventure.’
